We took time at the beginning of class to do peer reviews of the memo and letter for the correspondence assignment. The final versions, along with any drafts, are due next Monday (Oct. 1). We also talked about research and divided into groups for the research project. See the handout I uploaded for that project and the instructions in the course website for Online Assignment #4.

We discussed ethics in the workplace, wrote codes of ethics for the class, and went over the format for business letters and memos. I also handed out the correspondence assignment.

In class today we went over the syllabus, introduced ourselves, and completed a brief information sheet. We also discussed what technical writing is, and what good technical writing is. Complete Online Assignment #1 by midnight on Sun., Sept. 9.
