HUM 121 October 25
I returned the midterms and collected field trip reports. I held brief individual conferences to review students' current status, and we talked about what religions have in common.

ENG 030 September 19
We continued practicing identifying parts of speech in sentences. The Eduspace exercises on pronouns and articles are due by next Monday (Sept. 24). The ones for adjectives, conjunctions, and interjections are due by next Friday (Sept. 28).

We went through the rest of the parts of speech and practiced identifying them in sentences. Complete the next two Eduspace exercises by next Monday. We'll continue to practice identification of parts of speech on Wednesday.

We talked about verbs and reviewed nouns. On Monday, we'll finish introducing the parts of speech and work on identifying them in sentences. The first three Eduspace exercises are due by Monday.

ENG 030 June 27
We continued working on identifying parts of speech as well as subjects and verbs in sentences. We also talked about clauses and simple sentences. Next week we'll continue with the other kinds of sentences.
On Monday we'll also discuss options for the midterm. If you'd prefer, I'm willing to give it in class instead of having you go to the testing center.

We reviewed parts of speech and practiced identifying subjects and verbs in sentences. Please make sure you've completed the first seven (through interjections) Eduspace exercises by Wed., Jun 27.

We continued to practice identifying parts of speech, as well as subjects and verbs in sentences. We also talked about the four kinds of sentences: simple, compound, complex, and compound-complex.
Tomorrow or Saturday, I will be recording the scorse for the first seven exercises in Eduspace, so if you want to redo them, you have to do it today (Thursday).

We finished previewing all the parts of speech and practiced recognizing them in sentences. We also looked at subjects and verbs in sentences. The first seven exercises on the checklist (a new handout) are due by Thurs., June 21.
